M&A Pilot Programme - HT21
The program is designed to give selected students an interactive insight into the world of investment banking, providing key technical skills and valuable experience for spring weeks, summer internships and graduate roles.
The program runs for 6-7 weeks after the recruitment cycle, with teams experiencing the entire life cycle of an M&A deal, including but not limited to:
1) Industry Analysis
2) Precedent Transaction Analysis
3) Selection of a client and transaction universe
4) Completion of an illustrative transaction
5) Creation of a pitch deck to the proposed client
Throughout the process, applicants can expect to work in close deal teams, with each team paired with an experienced advisor with professional industry experience to provide guidance and mentorship. Analysts can expect to hone skills in valuation methodologies such as precedent transactions, comparables analysis and DCF modelling, while developing M&A specific technical skillsets such as merger modelling for pro-forma financials, accretion/dilution analysis and formation of proposed deal structures. Analysts can also expect to be provided with exclusive training events along the program. This will all culminate in a final end-of-term pitch book presentation to current industry professionals, with previous analysts having presented to professionals from Goldman Sachs, Lazard and Greenhill.
